Virgin Islands waters... at 1100 am AST...1500 UTC...the center of newly upgraded Tropical Storm Hanna was estimated near latitude 20.5 north...longitude 59.2 west or about 305 miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands...moving west northwest near 10 knots. Based on the latest tropical cyclone forecasts...Hanna is expected to turn more northwest this afternoon and then maintain this general motion for the next couple of days...remaining north of the local area. A mainly light and variable wind flow will prevail across the regional waters through Friday. An upper level trough just north of Puerto Rico extending southwest across Hispaniola...will act to enhance showers and thunderstorms across the local waters through at least Friday.
