The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of southern Utah... including the following area... southwest Utah including the cities of Milford and Cedar City.
* Until 10 PM MDT this evening
* a significant surge of monsoonal moisture will move northward into southern Utah today. Thunderstorms developing this afternoon have the potential for very heavy localized rainfall which may result in flash flooding.
* Heavy runoff from thunderstorm rainfall could cause flash flooding of streams as well as normally dry washes and slot canyons.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
